Case Study 5: Personal Injury Car/Bicycle Accident Investigation

After a teenage boy was injured when a vehicle struck him while he crossed the road on his bicycle, the boy’s law firm contacted J&R. The vehicle operator, an elderly woman, indicated she did not see the bicycle rider prior to the accident. Witnesses and the police report gave differing accounts on what occurred. The young boy was taken by ambulance to the hospital and was unable to provide much information.

J&R investigators reconstructed the accident scene, interviewed the witnesses and the police that responded to the scene. The in-depth investigation determined the driver of the vehicle directly behind the elderly woman’s vehicle observed the bicycle rider before the accident and was prepared to take evasive action. J&R investigators were able to sort through the conflicting information and provide the law firm with accurate information, which aided the law firm’s client in obtaining a positive resolution to the case.
